Sabre Hospitality appoints seasoned hospitality executive to increase its presence in Europe

Guy Barnes has over 25 years’ experience in the travel industry. He joins Sabre from IDeaS Revenue Solutions, where he held roles in sales and account management, ultimately leading to the position of area vice president of growth, EMEA.

LONDON, UK – Sabre Corporation a leading provider of software and technology powering the global travel industry, announced the appointment of Guy Barnes to lead Sabre Hospitality’s Sales in Europe.

Barnes has over 25 years’ experience in the travel industry. He joins Sabre from IDeaS Revenue Solutions, where he held roles in sales and account management, ultimately leading to the position of area vice president of growth, EMEA. He also serves as a board member in Europe of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, a global organization committed to supporting the growth of the hospitality sector.

In his role as Head of Sales for Europe at Sabre Hospitality, Barnes will leverage Sabre’s proven success with the SynXis platform, and our latest innovation, SynXis Retail Studio, which enables hoteliers to sell anything at the time of booking and expand revenue streams by creating choices for your guests that Go Beyond the room.

One of Barnes’ objectives is to partner with hotels for them to quantifiably improve their commercial performance, at the same time helping them in the fulfillment of their offerings by optimizing their day-to-day operations management and driving sustainable and long-term success.

According to Barnes, last year’s acquisition of Nuvola, a task management and operations optimization software, allows Sabre to integrate a new way of fulfilling sales into daily operations, and to enhance the guest experience, under its SynXis Operations Studio.

“My goal is to help more hotels generate increased revenue from their hotel assets, thereby expanding their revenue streams,” Barnes continued. “This change in mindset needs to be adopted across all sectors of the hotel world for hoteliers to evolve to a reality where they can deliver innovative customer service and increase their commercial revenue; this can be capitalized upon via our recent innovative solutions within SynXis Retail Studio and SynXis Operations Studio.”
