Wythe Hotel will host the Regenerative Travel Summit on September 20, 2023 during Climate Week New York this year.
NEW YORK – Regenerative Travel announces its partnership with Wythe Hotel, a converted early 20th-century textile factory, making it the first New York hotel to join the community. The Wythe Hotel, located in Williamsburg, is a leader in sustainable and community-minded practices in the area and sets the standard for regenerative tourism in an urban environment. With this partnership, Wythe Hotel commits to furthering their regenerative practices and promoting responsible tourism for a better future.
To celebrate this partnership, Wythe Hotel will host the Regenerative Travel Summit on September 20, 2023 during Climate Week New York this year. This annual flagship event will bring together experts and leaders in the travel industry to discuss innovative solutions and explore how travel can be a force for good, promoting sustainable and regenerative travel that prioritizes environmental and community well-being. It will showcase diverse and international thought leadership, challenging participants to build an industry that generates abundance for all. The summit will focus on five key themes, including regenerative destinations, tech start-ups and innovation, decarbonization, regenerative agriculture and the importance of data collection and benchmarking.

The Regenerative Travel Impact Awards 2023 will be celebrated for the first time in person at the Summit and aims to recognize individuals and projects that promote positive change in people’s lives, communities, and the world. The awards seek to identify and celebrate inspiring change makers working to solve significant challenges, both within and beyond the travel industry.
The Wythe Hotel and Regenerative Travel are committed to creating a non-extractive, immersive, inclusive, and equitable tourism industry that benefits everyone involved. Through this summit, they hope to push participants to embrace regenerative principles and become active agents of positive change in the travel industry in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Wythe Hotel preserves the building’s century-old industrial roots, while promoting inclusion, diversity, and community involvement. The hotel’s restaurant, Le Crocodile, leads the way in reducing food waste through sustainable sourcing and composting and partners with the non-profit Billion Oyster Project to reuse discarded shells from oysters, clams, and scallops served in the restaurant and contribute to the project’s goal of restoring one billion oysters to New York Harbor in addition to while also prioritizing the health and safety of guests and staff. Regenerative Travel will be collecting donations towards EQTR, a non-profit organization that aims to promote entrepreneurship and leadership in the luxury travel industry for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ college-age individuals, in order to achieve equity in representation from marginalized communities and reflect the diversity of the industry’s clientele.
